Duluth International Airport signs on to rewards program

    The Duluth International Airport has become the first airport in the state to offer a frequent-flyer program.

    The new rewards program, launched last week, allows airport passengers to earn frequent-flyer miles and hotel points when they park, shop and eat at the airport.

    Those who enroll can earn similar benefits at more than 160 airports and 20,000 businesses in the United States that are program participants.

    “We see this as a way for the airport to further its relationships throughout the community and support local business in a manner that is seamless, impactful and beneficial to everyone,” Tom Werner, the airport’s executive director, said in a statement. “This is an excellent way to extend our reach into the communities we serve and directly partner with local business.”

    They built a nice new terminal that opened a couple years ago.
