IMO it would be improved if the USA departures didn't do CBP preclearance at DUB. I HATE being stuck in the holding pen.

The pre-clearence is for many the reason why they prefer to fly from or via DUB to the USA. :)

I know but I prefer a lounge to the holding pen.

Plus, when I've used pre clearance, there hasn't been GE or an elite line, versus using GE, being among the first off the plane, and having any checkeed bagss priority tagged and appearing on the belt very early. In decades of international travel for business, I've only once waited longer for CBP (in total for both immigration and customs) than at DUB, and my unlucky day was when the CBP computers were in fullblown meltdown at DTW when my TPAC flight arrived.
