Dubai back in Four Seasons’ sights:)

Luxury operator Four Seasons will unveil plans for a new Dubai hotel in 2011.

Jim Fitzgibbon, President, Worldwide Hotel Operations for Four Seasons, said: “It’s safe to say there will be an announcement this year.”

He declined to elaborate on the project or say whether it would be a city hotel or resort.

Four Seasons dipped its toe in the market when it managed Al Badia Golf Club at Dubai Festival City, but a proposed hotel on site never materialised. The golf club is now managed by InterContinental Hotels Group.:)

The general downturn in the Dubai economy has seemingly had no effect on new hotel construction.

That is because all the companies previously building condos (which are unsold) need to keep their staff occupied- thus turning to hotels.
