I found comments which were hilarious for all the wrong reasons. Apparently hot towel wipes and towels mean luxury. I always thought it was on demand dining , good flat seats etc.

BA in its current form is about all profit so cutting services and eliminating the things that would differentiate them from the competition but saves cash. (Their ground services were always subpar)

BTW mentioning FT on this board has become an absolute no-no lately.

If, by 'FT', you're meaning to refer to that other place where folks seem to like fighting so much? Agreed, then, let's leave them be...

In any case, they'll enjoy their fracas more, if we're not there to interrupt it.

I think I have. An example of some people using this site to slam Flyertalk for its policies (perhaps missing the irony that this very site was created by the same people that to the best of my knowledge instituted those policies over here). Not a particularly constructive thread, mind you, but I don't know why it's a no-no to mention Flyertalk here.

Realistically - if you're omitting any of this you are not doing a very thorough job. A checklist is great and all, but if "luxury" is what you're shooting for you should really deliver more than that - and honestly speaking it's random unexpected or semi-unexpected touches and friendly/gracious service that have little or no direct cost, but make a big difference.

There have been times where BA TATL J is $1100, TATL F $2400. You can do the math from there.

Some airlines provide similar in economy.

You can make a reasonable argument that anything above the lowest class of service is some amount of "luxury". You can also make an argument that only the more over-the-top F products are really "luxury" and most of the amenities of Biz and Premium economy are just practical measures to arrive a bit fresher. 8-across business cabins aren't exactly leading edge.

and by "at times" you mean "today".
