I have the chance to upgrade the my flight by paying miles. There are two options in the pictures below.
The first one is upgradeIndividual Flights for 30K+550 and the other option is Upgrade All Eligible Flights | 15,000 miles + $550 per person . Is it a mistake by United? Does anybody have the same experience?

You might want to edit the picture to hide your MP # at the top.

It's a shame you don't have more miles to find out :)

actually i can transfer some miles from my chase account. However, here is what I did this morning, I wake up in the morning and saw a email from united ask me to check in and there is an option to upgrade the flight from DTW to PVG (one-way) for 768 to BussinessFirst Class. I purchased that.

After doing that, I saw another option to upgrade it by miles as what you saw in the picture. I am just thinking if you can really upgrade it by 15000+$550, it's a pretty good deal. However, I cannot do it now since I already purchase the one for cash even I can transfer points from my chase account to United

Is this Chase account a Chase United MileagePlus card? If so, then "Award miles accrued with your MileagePlus credit card will continue to be reflected in your award miles balance", i.e, they are part of your MileagePlus total and not separate...

I'd say you got a good deal on buying the 15,000 miles you would have otherwise needed by the cash difference of $218!

Just curious, if you buy an upgrade to business/first (using money only no miles) do you get the 50% eqm bonus or are you locked into the normal eqm's that came with a normal coach tic?
