Hello, Gaucho. You have not made a Malbec post for a few days. You should know you're making me begin to order the stuff.
Yes..... well, to tell the truth, the weeks continue to pass and these forums are still a mess with no organization because we cant get sub-forums approved.... its very annoying.
Back on topic.... I suggest everybody take the quiz and post your score.... I will confess to have gotten one question wrong....
Of course, I disagree with their choice of answer but thats another discussion....
I am an infrequent visitor to the destinations forum.
Because of this exact reason.. there are pages of threads that are just jumbled all together for huge geographical areas...
I came hoping to see if there are any destination threads pertaining to Costa Rica... and found this mess.....
Please make your discomfort noted on the general community forums..... thanks !!!
Some more labels to look for...
Marchiori Barraud Malbec Cuartel 2 (Mendoza)
Ciclos Malbec (Salta)
Tacuil 33 de Davalos (Salta)
Rutini Antologia XIV (Mendoza)
Breaking Malbec News.....
Cheval des Andes is due to come out with a super high-end single vineyard Malbec under the Cheval brand....
Finca Flichman has released a 1,000 bottle edition of its new flagship Malbec....
Stay tuned for more details.....
That is good news. Now I need to figure out how to get some here. I suppose I need a MR, or should it be WR?
Yes.... maybe you can do this for the Cow Do....???
Sadly it is in early September when I must be on the other side of the world. It is very bad timing on my part; I should ahve had my trips better planned!
I got 2 wrong, but one I must have misread.
Me too. I know nothing about Bonarda, hence the errors.
You must try Bonarda Malbec blends.... good stuff.
Do you know where these might be available?
Which ones do you recommend? There are quite a few from different producers, I find, with prices that vary widely.
Mora Negra from Finca Las Moras
Siesta Bonarda Malbec from Ernesto Catena
Tikal Patriota by Laura Catena
There are others but I need to check my notes at the store and get back to you....
I am getting a nice price for Clos de los Siete 2007. I have never tried it. Is it decent? It's coming from Grand Cru so a good price is mind-boggling!
Decent, yes... not anything special and perhaps a rather international style... but consistent and proper value for money - if the guys at Grand Cru offer you something reasonable. What do they want for it...???
Some new Malbecs to consider....
Flichman Parcela 26 Malbec
Colome Terrunio Malbec
Colome Lote Especial Malbec
And some Malbec blends....
Rutini Antologia XXIV
Iscay by Trapiche
Ricominciare Malbec Tannat
R$79=$43US is their price, but the 2007 is gone now so that is the 2009.
US$43 per bottle...?????!!!!!!
I think I will better not post what a bottle costs in Buenos Aires.... you may just get a little heartburn....
Oh, I know. That is one reason why we like to buy Argentine products so much!
It is an under $20 bottle around here.
