I have used MaxROAM with my mobile phone for travel that was brief enough that it did not justify a local prepaid. I have a new micro-sim form them for my iPad. So far neither has performed flawlessly but the phone was better than none at all. The 3G roaming for the iPad seems to be useless. I have activated it but have not yet succeeded in downloading anything. Their help desk sets a new level of inefficiency.

Does anybody have more positive experience? is there a better solution? [IMG][IMG]

I have used SEAROAM, which is cheaper overall but I believe uses the MAXROAM backend and trunking arrangement, etc. I have been pretty happy with it worldwide, but in certain countries it just can't compare to a local sim.
