I always wonder if you get miles by flying CX but with AA flight#, per AA website, you have to book fare class H to get miles yet I read in some blog that if you fly with AA 4digit flight number you get miles, anyone has any experience and was able to get miles?

If your marketed flight number is AA, then you follow the earning fare class of AA, not CX (the operating carrier)

If AA lists that fare H is eligible for EQM, then you will get miles by flying that flight even if it's operated by CX.

More importantly, however, is that even lower fares earn if purchased on an AA code, even if CX operated. So if you are on a CX-operated flight purchased as an AA coded seat in even the cheapest fare classes (G/Q/N/O/S) you still earn. Those seats on CX coded flights in similar classes would not earn.
