Do people sell flight credits or vouchers on this site?
No, most flight credits, vouchers and points programs have terms that prevent selling them.
ohh ok, thank you for the information!
NO. Selling almost anything on MP is against the rules.
These rules or the loyalty programs' rules?
But nothing prevents friends from trading them.
Don't see anything in MP's terms and conditions to prohibit it. The closest would probably be the prohibition against fraudulent or illegal activities, but I don't think it's either.
Not that I am trying to argue here that we should engage in sale of miles/certs here. And you won't find me participating
In the early days of MP, Randy asked us to refrain from offering or arranging trades of stuff here, although we were free to offer to gift completely free travel stuff to others in the appropriate fora. Now that the Exchange has been created, trades--not purchases or sales--are supposed to take place only there, under strict rules such as it not being the focus or a significant part of one's participation in MP and with restrictions on access only to those who are invited or have participated in MP enough.
Most FF programs prohibit sales, purchases, or barter as a condition of participation in the FF etc. program. Moreover, most state that participants/passengers/guests/customers do not own the points/miles/certs/etc., so attempting to purchase, sell, or barter miles or points would seem to be illegal (under civil law) and fraud. IANAL.
I know of an entire travel website that would go to go for these infractions.
I'm not claiming that people don't do it, although I do not and will not do stuff like this.
It's prolly been tried here a number of times. The practice is discouraged/banned, though. There are legit ways of lightening the load of your credits or vouchers. Work with a friend, or relative, and not deal with a complete stranger.
Pretty sure more credits and vouchers are non-transferable?
