First time ever staying in a Sheraton where the company booked a big amount of rooms with reference " RT1003" Group Corporate.

My SPG PLAT number is attached to my reservation and I made sure to stay at the sheraton (vs. other hotel options with the same group rates) - would I get those nights counted for status?

    Thanks!

First question is whether you will pay the bill for your room individually or will it be part of a master bill?

If the charges are going on a Master Bill to the company, then the stay will not be eligible, but you can earn Starpoints for any eligible incidentals you may incur.

Then it *probably* wll earn points, nights, and stay credit, but the convention contract could say otherwise. To be safe, you should contact your meeting planner or the hotel. Sometimes you can avoid issues by booking the hotel yourself if you can find a comparable rate and if there is availability for your dates.

Of course, this assumes that your company and the conference allow this, although it's hard to see how a meeting can forbid you from making your own arrangements if hotel accomodation is not provided or included in the registration fee. Some meeting budgets are based on the premise that a high fraction of participants will use the room block; the contract with the hotel might specify financial penalties, such as increased charges for meeting space, if targets are not met.
