Yep was one the ways I used to get DL miles at absolutely no cost by a method I never seen a single poster on any FF board or any of the multitude of bloggers ever mention.
(And I sure never did either from fear it be published all over the boards and in turn closed down)

I saw this mention on blogs and on TOBB several times. That's not why it's being shut down. It's being shut down because the Durbin amendment limits the profits banks can make on debit card transactions.

Trust me the "procedure" I was able to use in getting additional DL miles through my Suntrust account for well over 5 years was not posted on FT or any blog.:)

I suppose if I abused ( as many on these boards are wont to do) it would have been shut down years ago.

It's not actually literally at 'no cost'. I pay $75/year for each card I have. I have 2.

Seems existing holders of the card can keep it. Hopefully for a while but we will see.

The Delta site still has it listed too but this could be because they have not caught up yet.

I haven't seen it pulled from SunTrust.com either. Since the quote reads "I can not tell you all the details but I very much trust my source that I have with this news..." I suppose we will have to wait to see if it happens.

Seems SunTrust did pull it from their site. Only the regular SunTrust debit card is listed now.

Wow, they sure did. When the OP posted I checked and it was still there. Seems the source is reliable!!

I can confirm that the deal is still alive... I just got mine yesterday via the online chat at suntrust.com. No issues... Took 20 mins.

My branch confirmed it will be gone. I can keep my 2 but there's a limit to what or how I can make account changes. Funny thing is a coworker of mine found the offer online with a 5,000 mile sign up bonus. (I got 30,000 each card.)

Paid my annual fee this week. Was thinking of skipping a year but when I heard it may go away I decided to keep it and I will try to maximize it this year.
