Couldn't he shift to the left seat after landing? Or do the right-seaters not learn how to drive the plane?

I think it would have involved leaving the plane "unattended" even if for a second with the engines going while he switched seats.

I guess someone will look into the whole business of having an FA in the cockpit when the pilot goes to the lav again.

I've never observed DL FAs going into the cockpit when a pilot leaves, but I've heard that this is required, perhaps only in some countries or on some aircraft/airlines. What are the rules?

How in the world did a string get into the lock? There's no reason for string to be near the door lock. Was someone was trying to tie it around the door knob to hold the door open? [Or was someone trying the fabled old way to put out a tooth by tying a string around it and tying the other end of the string to a door knob so that when someone opens the door, the tooth is yanked out. Ouch.]

I don't think I have never seen it not happen on United in the last 10 years or so.

    It seems strange...

There are those who would say it is a prime example of DL stringing us along
