So the dog outranks its handler? What is the military coming to? At least it's not an officer or there would be a lot of saluting.

My understanding is the dog is always 1 rank higher that its handler.

Does this mean that the dog is allowed to bite the handler, or is this a privilege reserved for officers? Also, this means the handler could be forced to choose between a promotion or the dog? Megan's choice?
