Ok, I am confused as I have to admit I have never heard of the Daily Getaways so am assuming this is all legit and above board.

So using my AMEX I can purchase 69,000 points for just over $700 which will get me 3 nights at either of the Paris properties. Seems like such a steal there must be a trick to this.

I think I am going to be in for the 69,000 points as we have a lot of travel planned for next year and the points will be cheaper than paying for the room.

This promo was also run last year - it does indeed give you points - however, it sells out very quickly (within minutes).

Notice that the cents per point cost is not the same across all of the listed sales above. Given the limit on how many purchases may be directed at a given account, perhaps that is a factor in the prices per point being different.

    The rates a
The rates are almost exactly the same as last year after the 10% off AMEX discount so I doubt that this is a factor.

The points (all 4 categories) sold out in about 20 minutes last year. The points were deposited to my account within a couple of days and there were no restrictions

With the Hyatt sale last year, on a cents per point acquired basis, were the somewhat better deals for the lower point offers or were the somewhat better deals for the higher point offers?

The terms state that you can purchase one of each offer. Can it all be handled in 1 transaction, or do you have to purchase them separately? Separate transactions would take extra time and may limit one's ability to purchase before running out.

Last year, each had to be a separate transaction. I'm expecting it to be the same this year.

What I hadn't realised was how few packages there were available at each level. Hmm I'm not normally out of bed by 9.00 a.m. so think I will have to set my alarm that day to make sure I don't miss out.

I haven't seen any indication of how many of each offer there will be this year. So far, it's only assumptions based on last year. I expect that it will change for some offers.

On the other side of the equation, I definitely sense that interest is significantly up from last year, so competition will likely be fierce.

I'm still waiting for the thread about the 2-night $5K+ Dog Whisperer offer from Best Western that includes, "Be the subject of a magazine feature in Cesar’s Way magazine and on Best Western’s You Must be Trippin’ blog." (Estimated value: $10K)

hope i can get in on this one this time around---missed it last year. I'm due to be stepping off a flight a half hour before. Looks like a reason to bring the laptop and hang out in AUS for a bit.

I have 10k hyatt points expiring this Sep. Will buying extra points extend my points' expiration date?

    thanks
