Hey guys I have two options for an upcoming from with TG from CMB --> BKK --> TYO in First.

Currently Booked on a red eye from CMB to BKK with a 6.5 layover before BKK --> HND.
I'm glad to have a few hours at the first class lounge to relax, eat, and enjoy the complimentary massage but based on the trip reports I think the 747-400 flight to HND is their old first class product and I'll be arriving at 9 pm so the day is pretty much over when I arrive.

Another option would be to change to a flight that leaves one hour after arrival in BKK and flies to NRT. The downside of this flight is that I wouldn't have time to enjoy the amenities in BKK first lounge. This has the new first product on the a380 but I'd be arriving in earlier in the day although at the more distant Narita airport.

My question is ...is the improved first product worth missing out on the amenities and the extra transit time from the airport in your opinions? thanks!

Don't forget that you may have a better hotel room selection in Tokyo, if you arrive earlier.

I'd still take the first flight out of BKK. I can't imagine that a lounge can be enjoyable for more than an hour.

At the TG F lounge in BKK it took us an hour just to get our food.
And that wasn't a bad thing.

I'd just do the A380 and get a quick massage during the connection. Once you enter the lounge, there's no need to worry about catching your flight since the attendants will escort you to the plane.

We flew both A380 and B747 in F last fall. The lounge is really nice, and the massage great, but the A380 is definitely the nicer experience in the air, and 6.5 hours sounds really long.. I'd choose the A380 and forego the lounge time.
