    Hi everyone,

Just got confirmed for a Hyatt Diamond status challenge.

If I'm booking a Hyatt room and want to use one of the suite upgrades, can I book the room online first and then call to have the upgrade apply? Or do I need to call to make the reservation.

    Thanks!

You can do either. I usually just called to have it done. The agents could not be more helpful. You'll find it's a pretty easy task. Enjoy your Diamond status- I'm still in mourning over losing mine!

Also am I able to book the Hyatt room on any website and use the upgrade? Or does it need to be booked directly from Hyatt?

It has to be an "eligible" rate, which means mostly booked directly with Hyatt and not Expedia, Priceline, Hotwire etc.

However, AAA and government rates seem to work.

So will booking through AA.com work or not?

    Thanks for all the answers.

I would book it on aa.com if you get an advantage by doing so. Then call Hyatt and give them the reservation number. Let them be the ones to determine if it can't be done. If not, let them book you and cancel the aa.com one. It's worth it!
