I have an overnight connection at DFW. I'm staying at the grand hyatt and food is really expensive. Can I use my boarding pass for tomorrow's flight to go into the terminal and eat dinner tonight?

Perhaps eat before you clear security or order something to go?

"What are my other nearby dining/shopping options?

    TERMINAL RE-ENTRY
The Grand Hyatt DFW is pleased to offer the Terminal Re-entry Program. Guests can receive a pass to re-enter the secure side of the terminal which gives them access to all the dining and shopping options in any of the DFW Airport terminals.

    To obtain a pass:
·Visit the Concierge or Front Desk with your government issued ID.
·Staff will take down your room number.
·DFW Security Services is called to give you a “pseudo-boarding pass”.
·You will then be directed to the security checkpoint at gate D22.
·You will go through security (body scan, pat down and extra security).
·The pass is only good for a one-time use. Should you want to enter again, the process has to be repeated from the beginning.
·Terminal Re-entry passes are only available until 8 PM."

I stand corrected. Never heard of such a pass for dining/shopping.

That makes two of us. With some of the upgrades in food at the D terminal it might actually be worth it to head over. However, if it were still daytime I'd choose the Hard 8 BBQ joint not far from DFW. Went there with a friend earlier this year for lunch and wasn't disappointed.

I was already outside the terminal and I needed dinner which was 4 hours later but good thought.

This is exactly what I did! Took a while to figure it out but I was pretty sure I wouldn't be the first one to not want to drop $50 on dinner at the hotel.

As an aside, I had to talk with the TSA supervisor and she said they would have let us renter on our boarding passes alone since we were staying at the hotel and had a flight the next morning. Makes me wonder what situation they had in mind when they created the re-entry program...either way, Grand Hyatt and TSA were very accommodating.

Me either but sure glad they had it. I think it only works for hotels connected to the airport because the concierge had to call a DFW security officer up to do a bunch of paper work. I doubt it would work for the Hyatt regency DFW (not sure though) but probably would work for the Westin DTW...maybe ;-)

Not a bad choice indeed but then I'd have to foot the bill for taxis there and back which would kill the economics. Plus I had my wife and 2 kids. Everyone was a little too grumpy for that kind of work.
