    AA press release here
Lie flat first and business, premium economy (but seemingly not as fully separate section), and power everywhere.

"American will also offer an Economy Class premium seat product, which will include additional legroom for seats in the forward portion of the cabin, allowing greater personal space and convenient access when boarding and deplaning."

Sounds like UA's Economy Plus or Delta's Economy Comfort. Quite nice. I wonder if they'll also retrofit their older aircraft.

And I wonder what their policy will be for elites wanting to sit in premium economy, as to sitting there with deep-discount fares. Book a seat there at a surcharge? Or with no surcharge at time of booking, or at check-in? And what will be the dividing line Executive Platinum vs Platinum vs Gold? To be determined, I guess, because I didn't see that in my first reading of the press release.

I am excited about the lie-flat seats and new AVOD. Now if they are able to offer consistently good service I would be happy to give them all of my business.

Sounds like the business cabin seats will be similar to Air NZ's new product on the 777... Herringbone is implied by the "aisle access" comment. Or am I reading too much into this?

AA didn't release pictures from what I can tell, but this (LINK) is the seat people are talking about when they reference CX/US options.

That would explain the direct aisle access, I wonder if they are also going to use the CX Y shell style seats for Econ.

I wouldn't assume Herringbone for all aisle. CX new seats are not the herringbone and have all aisle access.

When I think Herringbone, i think of the awful old CX style.

Since I don't fly premium classes in Asia Pacific much any more, I was unfamiliar before coming to this thread with the seating term "herringbone," so I had to stop and learn it. If China Eastern or Air China offered this, would it be a "red" herring? (Sorry.)

The release just says aisle access for all seats, which could be achieved a number of ways. Not sure herringbone is the option AA will go with just yet.

Personally I'd hope for the Sicma Cirrus linked above.

I think the addition of a premium economy product will be a good thing! :) Looking forward to details!

Am guessing it won't be a Premium Economy Cabin, but just an exanded offering of Preffered/Preferred Plus seats. Elites will be able to access those much the same way elites access exit rows. It will just be nice to have a few more options for seats to select besides Row 31 A/B/H/J :) to hold on to in case an upgrade doesn't clear. :)

Looking forward to the future "What's better? 31 A/B/H/J or Premium Economy?" threads.

Anyone know how many seats per cabin there will be with the new product? (Naturally, I'm wondering if upgrades will be harder/easier/the same.)
