Because big money media up until this very day has never explained to the flying public the destruction of Skymiles Delta had actually earned $4 Billion after destroying the ff program. This is twice the $2 Billion it earned a few years ago before it totally collapsed Skymiles for 99% of Flyers. Total surrender by consumer protection officials as well.

It is sorta hard to understand how, with SkyPesos being redeemable at only about one cent per mile, a discerning consumer would go for an AMEX Delta Gold over Jennifer Garner's Capital One Venture card that gives two "worth a penny apiece" miles per dollar spent -- and those Capital "miles" can be redeemed for a penny each for flights on almost any carrier, not just Delta. Yes, first checked bag is free on Delta, but does that really make up for the loss?

Complete lack of consumer protection and total media shillery. All credit cards are FAR LESS valuable and many are utterly worthless in terms of points compared to the Era of Pre Merger travell. Many folks should consider switching to debit cards as that will rein in their spending-for all but the highest spenders 50k miles are pretty low worth today- won’t even get you to Europe and you still have to pay taxes and fees. Just take Norwegian with summer flights as low as less than $300. And you can buy segments separately so if you need to cancel your out $170 versus $800 with the cartel.
