As the end of Daylight Saving Time approached, I was up late reading. It was a few minutes after 1 a.m. I glanced over to my clock radio, a Logitech Boombox (think Bose clock radio but for Internet radio), and it said 3:11. A few minutes later it said 4:11. Over the next 40+ minutes, I watched it change its mind multiple times (it went back to 2:xx for a while but didn't stay in that range).

It did get the time right once 2 a.m. rolled around (it correctly went to 1h) but the fact that it was off by as much as two hours in the period preceding the change was unsettling.

(Background reading on Daylight Saving Time and the time change is here.)

My automatic sprinkler just came on an hour early, though I guess that the lawn doesn't care.

I forgot the time change and I am having coffee way too early.

If it is way too early, then it is the right time for coffee... No? :)

Luckily my cablebox is keeping up with daylight savings. I totally forgot about it although the extra hour of sleep was nice.

I was lamenting a problem with my household electronics not being the most up-to-date; I believe my Blackberry and tablet are the only items that did update the time.

Delta Airlines is another story - the inflight travel map tells me time stopped at 12:14 a.m. local time.

Delta's Web site didn't seem to be working properly last night - it kept telling me to try again in a few minutes.

Most desktop and laptop computers update properly but appliances, thermostats, timers, normal clocks and watches, for example, do not. Most cars don't either.

Oh, to live in AZ where we don't change our clocks. (Of course, it makes travel times very challenging.)

Yep. Arizona is great for not having to change time.

For a few days before my Saturday night flight, Tripit kept switching my flight time back and forth an hour. My flight left on the original time. Did get confusing but with 3 of us flying in/out on different US Air flights out of CLT we figured it was wrong.

Wow, that does sound like it could be a bit confusing.

Reminds me of Queensland, in Australia… very annoying when the whole East Coast of a country is an hour ahead. Some TV stations adjust the time an hour back, others keep it an hour delayed!!

    Hawaii too! :D
I was on a MR last night and I woke up this morning at 4:30 am and wondered whether all the clocks (phones, computer, nightstand clock) changed automatically. They all showed the same time, but still I was in doubt. :) I like it better in HNL. :)

I just realized that someone(s) must've set my hotel room's clock back twice. It's an hour earlier than it should be. Perhaps I can use that as an excuse to sleep in an extra hour this morning.
