    I really wish I didn't have some leftover items from last year's promo, but I am looking forward to another round of good deals.

    This is new to me. Are some of the deals valid for a long time?

    Not long enough! I have one that's about to expire. And it's non-transferable. I might lose out on that one.

    Another one I have is valid forever, but just sitting here, in place of my money.

    The others I've either used, or they were for points/miles, so they're just part of my points and miles empire.

    I only jumped in for the miles/points myself. Grabbed almost 100k US miles with the Wyndham points sale and I'm salivating at the prospect of this year's sales -- assuming they've upgraded their servers :)

    Yup. I got a pile of Wyndhams also, and used a lot to get me over 2MM with AA and the rest to get a US GS hit for each member of my family.

    Hope to repeat the US GS part.

    Some of the points deals sell out in a matter of minutes. The points, of course, can be used for a long time. Other deals sell very slowly and can take weeks until they sell out. The expiration will vary greatly. I bought some hotel vouchers with no expiration and some car rental vouchers which expire Dec. 2012.
    You can find details of what was offered last April on Milepoint and on Flyertalk, as the old threads are still here and searchable. Of course, until April 2 we don't know if this year's deals will be similar, different or whatever.........

    One of these deals might actually work for me; I have a wedding at the Omni Hotel in Philadelphia in a few months. Does anyone know how I can find out what the black out dates are for this deal? Would I contact Omni or American Express? Thanks for your help

    Here come the Wyndham points...

    * 16k for $55
    * 28k for $76
    * 32k for $110
    * 50k for $143
    * 48k for $165

    They're slightly more expensive than last year, but still a pretty good deal if you can get them. Should US Airways have another promo, this could be a serious amount of miles for very cheap.

    The Hotel deals, 10k Priority Club pts for $67 and 100k HHonors for $500.

    I feel like I would need to buy them for a trip to Bora Bora or other super luxe-destination to get value from this deal.

    I am naive when it comes to hotel points though. Does anybody else have an opinion on it?

    I made good use of those points last year at Travelodge’s, I'll do as many more as I can. Generally I was able to use points worth ~$40 for rooms from $60 (SEA, Lynchburg VA) - $150 (Key West Travelodge).

    Anyone else watching them on twitter?
    https://twitter.com/#!/dailygetaways

    They are going hog wild with a post every few minutes, if it keeps up I'll have to unsubscribe so I don't miss something of value... Is that considered ok twitter use?

    (I'm Hilton Gold.)
    Example: Hilton Arc de Triomphe Paris hotel
    16 Sep 2012 - 21 Sep 2012, 1 room for 2 adults
    Points = 40k night or 200,000 points ($1,100 on daily getaways)
    Cash = 1,775 euro / 2,318 USD

    I'm sure you could find similar examples in the US for top quality hotels.

    NYC same dates, rooms range from $332 to $499 night and 40k points.

    Good to know.

    Now Where can I find somebody to give me $1,100 to buy all these points?

    Yeah for Priority Club the IC hotels are a no-brainer... 50% off easily when you redeem with cash & points. Either of the IC hotels in Paris is 40k points + $60, or $500+ USD a night.

    Half an hour into the sale today, and there appears to be no difficulty in purchasing Priority Club points. :)
