  1. I am trying to research on credit cards with perks for large spends (in a calendar year)in order to optimize spending. I am listing the ones that I know, it would be great if the experts chime in on the ones I am missing

SPG : Gold status after $30K spend
HHonors: Gold status for $20K spend, Diamond for $40K spend (Surpass only)
    Delta?

    Chase
    Hyatt: Gold?
Ritz Carlton Rewards: Gold with $10K spend
Continental OnePass: 10K for $25 spend
Chase BA Visa : Companion ticket for $30K spend
Mileage Plus Club Visa: 5K MQM after $35K spend

Penfed Travel Rewards: Free Priority Pass for $15K spend

I am pretty sure I am missing a lot of them. Please chime in.

If you spend enough on AXP cards you might just get an invitation for a Centurion Card (aka Black Card or Titanium Card) ;)

I'm a BIG fan of my AXP premier rewards gold. I like it especially for the point multipliers for airfare. Plus, with membership rewards, you are able to transfer points to miles at 1:1 ratio. many times airlines give 50% or better bonus points for transferring to them. recent example is British air giving 50% mile bonus when transferring Membership rewards points to them. IMHO, the best card out there without having to pick loyalty (Startwood, hyatt, etc)

I agree. I transferred my points to DL and got 50% bonus and transferred my wife's points to BA and got 50% bonus.
