If you add someone to your credit card as an authorized user so that you may get bonus mileage points, then will that prevent that authorized user to apply for their own credit card for a signup bonus? (In other words if person A (me!) applied for a Chase MileagePlus card and got the 50k signup bonus and then added person B for another 5k bonus, will Chase say to B, when she goes to apply for the MileagePlus card for her own 50k bonus, that she can't get the 50k because she already appears as an authorized user on person A's card?)

I have added my wife more than once, and then she goes out and applies for her own card, and adds me as an authorized user,

About every 24 months we both reapply for the same card, and Chase does not seem to mind..., nor do we...

My guess is other have done the same thing...

    Welcome to the board...Capricorn..

No, being an authorized user doesn't prevent someone from applying under their own name and getting the sign-up bonus. Just make sure that they are an authorized user vs a joint owner.
