as I wrote in my blog yesterday (http://www.willrunformiles.com/2013/04/register-gift-cards-with-airline-dining.html) :

credit card-branded gift cards can be registered with Airline Dining Programs and earn miles exactly the same way as regular registered credit cards. I did not realize this until I received an email from Delta advising me of this yesterday, and I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not. I assume this is the case with other airline dining programs as well.

The earning potential of registering these cards is even greater if you bought the gift card with a credit card offering more than one point or mile per dollar.

I think it is for more than just gift cards. But, for any branded card. For example, a rebate in the form of a card.

And I received an e-mail from AA Dining yesterday saying the same thing.

Perhaps this is a new development.

it would make sense - aren't all of these dining programsl run by the same company?
