A better ?? is "Why would Fairmont sell itself/ let itself be bought? Esp. by Accor!
I like the Fairmont chain. They have some unique properties and good CS.
Accor by now has pretty well integrated their new hotels incl. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
We've stayed earlier this year [April 2016] at the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg, Germany and thought the hotel was "top notch" in terms of service, location, setting, food/drinks and our room which was beautiful and extremely enjoyable. Highly recommended IMHO.
Cheers & Safe Travels.
Each to his own but I love some of their Canadian hotels.
@Pizzaman hated Whistler's and the one in Santa Monica. Any of them I should try?
We really liked Banff, though I think there are some rooms there that don't have ideal locations. Loved Lake Louise.
Also really like both Fairmonts in Vancouver, though they're both VERY different.
I haven't been to either one you didn't like.
I don't think Fairmonts are for you. You're always posting about 5-star travel. Fairmont is for normal folks who want a better experience and good warm CS.
