Cable news is suggesting that given the cycles these planes do, more aggressive or high tech inspections might have been warranted. The Southwest aircraft aren't old in years compared to similar aircraft used by US carriers, but they have been used much more intensively than the legacy carriers generally do,
Apparently the total is up to 5 additional planes needing repairs for cracks.
Also, JALPak, I take it you are upset at not receiving platinum status yet.
I am more upset about the way they award status and how unfair it is to other contributors like Chimpy. I have given up on my Platinum status as I am not (and probably won't be) their favorite
How is status being awarded now? I remember that Gold status was suspended after you received it. How is it being awarded now?
Any updates on any more problem aircraft?
