OQA is Nancy Bird Walton currently still in SIN. Considering the work this one has undergone I'd be very surprised if it was OQA.

Not sure what one has to do with another. VH-OQA had the issue with the RR engine and has been in SIN since the incident. Cracks on the wing-rib feet which been found on both Qantas as well as Emirates A380s is another issue.

I read where she will be going back into service this week, but under another name. I have never heard of that happening before, but then, it is not the sort of information I would ever had found interesting. I can understand with such a prominent name on the nose, passengers would have always associated the Nancy Bird with the one that nearly didn't make it.

Surely there'd be a riot in Australia if they renamed her.

Interesting to see a hard figure quoted for the actual cost of repair. I must dig back to see how that compares to the original estimates.

Even if the reporter has made the schoolboy error of using the "list price" figure to produce a meaningless and useless comparison.
