How are you doing with the fires?
We're good so far, but very sad for our community and friends and neighbors who have not been so lucky.
We're got one employee stranded on the other side of the fire (Mikel), one employee mandatory evacuated and now in a hotel (Koschmar), one employee on pre-evacuation notice (Michelle and family have been invited to stay at my house if the call comes) but otherwise all other employees and the HOM are OK. Just stressful for those with asthma and other types of respiratory conditions. The HOM is several miles away from the current edges of the fire so no danger for our offices.
Thanks for thinking of us. We may be a little slow in responding to a few things as we have gone to an open schedule to allow employees to help their friends and families with the stress of mandatory evacuations that are growing here in COS. Currently 32,000 people have had to leave their homes.
UPDATE: Fire has grown to 24 square miles. 42,000 have evacuated. Here's what we are living amongst:
Randy, glad to hear you and the staff are safe. Wishing all those effected a speedy return to norm!
-speechless in regards to photos :-(
Just spoke with the springs today. They're holding up, but it sure looks like Armageddon down there. Thoughts and prayers from Chicago
just popped over to see how things are holding up at the HOM. All you guys are in my thoughts...stay safe!
My future bro-in-law is in the area and is on pre-evac orders now too.
It is truly heartbreaking to see such devastation. It almost looks like you are in a war zone. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all your friends and neighbors. I hope for as speedy a resolution to the nightmare as is possible. God bless all the brave firefighters who are putting their lives on the line to end this tragedy.
Thanks for the update and the pictures. It brought back some very unpleasant feelings, and triggered an emotional response I did not expect.
Glad everyone is as good as can be expected so far.
Thanks for the photos, Randy!
It's been quite an interesting time watching the smoke from the Denver metro area. Fingers crossed that this storm cell produces some rain in the COS & Boulder area!

Good Lord I just saw the photos. All y'all are in our thoughts down here in Texas.
What he said, but from Hawaii.
The photos are just heartbreaking. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to everyone in the area...
I hope you all will continue to stay safe. Don't take any chances!
Interesting that you mention 'war zone' -- as one of my friends, who lives in COS, is from Vietnam & mentioned that this all reminds of her of the war time back home!
Sending lots of prayers for rain & staying safe!
Stay safe boss and if the word does come down, don't be pulling no old man of the mountain hero "stuff"-grab your wife 'n critters and put your foot to the floorboard, y'hear.
Based on the recent evacuation of Woodland Park, the fire appears to be moving WEST... away from COS.
Good news !
For those with Google Earth, you can get the latest KML on the fire at http://activefiremaps.fs.fed.us/data/kml/conus_latest_modis.kml.
Thanks for the update, Randy. My heart goes out to all affected by the fires. Let us know if there's anything the MP community can do to help.
Please keep us updated as our thoughts are with you and yours.
Hope it stays away from The Springs, but the weather can change VERY quickly in Colorado.
This afternoon, the winds went from six mph, the next hour to 31 mph (with gusts to 46 mph), back to six mph the next hour (at the Air Force Academy).
Glad you're hanging in there Randy.
Good news, but as you know things changed overnight w/the wind shift!
Thank you Randy for taking the time to keep us informed of the unholy situation you and yours are experiencing in Colorado.
I am keeping y'all in my thoughts and prayers, do take care and be safe.....please.
