As posted by the Frequent Miler: http://frequentmiler.boardingarea.com/2015/07/01/spg-aadvantage-20-bonus/

From July 1, 2015 through August 7, 2015, American Airlines is offering a 20% transfer bonus on points transferred from SPG to AAdvantage. This bonus is on top of the 5,000 mile bonus SPG gives on a 20,000 point transfer.

    Here is an example:

    20,000 Starpoints = 20,000 AAdvantage miles
5,000 Standard SPG bonus = 5,000 AAdvantage miles
AAdvantage 20% mileage bonus = 5,000 AAdvantage miles
    Total = 30,000 AAdvantage miles

    Key Terms
    • Bonus miles are posted by AAdvantage within 7 days of the transfer.
    • Bonus miles do not count towards elite status qualification.
    • Member’s account must be in good standing.

    Thanks, great find.
AA (US Airways) has found another way to sell more miles - to SPG. ;)

Enhancements or not even with that bonus SPG points are worth way more (to me) than 1.5 AA miles.

You basically get three AA miles for every two SPG points effectively pricing the traded SPG points at around $22.50 per 1000.

    As @Lucky sayz:
    • You can only make one mileage transfer per Starwood account every 24 hours, up to 79,999 SPG points at a time. Given that the 5,000 point bonus is only for transfers in increments of 20,000 points, in practice you’ll just want to transfer 60,000 Starpoints per day, should you take advantage of this promotion.

Fair enough but my use of SPG points for awards at their hotels are giving me a minimum 3.5 and up to to 5.0 cents per point.:)

Nothing wrong with the SPG Brand, except most of our stays are paid for by the company.

I agree it is best to use the card for stays, to get the most return..

It is my #2 card, next to INK.,,
