The 269-room Conrad Brussels will be reflagged as a Steigenberger hotel by the end of the year. Hotel owner AG Real Estate reached an agreement with Steigenberger, a statement said. The hotel will be renamed as the Steigenberger Grand Hotel Brussels. Steigenberger will take over the operation of the hotel, part of the Wiltcher's complex, effective January 1, 2013. The hotel will continue to be managed under the Conrad brand until the end of 2012.
"Discussions with the owning company have been amicable, however it has been mutually agreed that both parties will pursue other opportunities that best fit their overall business strategies,” Hilton Worldwide said in a statement. "Hilton Worldwide continues to operate the Hilton Brussels City, which continues to perform well, providing a vibrant hub for both business and leisure travelers."

Saw this in a different post, but sucks all the same. Was thinking about a trip to Brussels this spring, and also considering the Citi reserve HHonors card.

Steigenberger is an iconic brand from Germany and dates back to the 1930's plus it was recently / 2009 / overtaken by Travco of Egypt and since then they try to expand further incl. European capitals and the Middle East targeted for the near future. The hotel will be part of their Grand Hotel Collection of Luxury Hotels.
