    Bipartisanship in action....

Sounds as if President Obama is going to sign the law when it gets to his desk.

The US follows China, that's new! :D

Seeing however that the EU emission scheme is totally flawed, a good move IMHO! Wouldn't pay it either, especially that aviation is much more friendly to the environment as let's say shipping.

I thought that was odd as well. One thing you don't hear too often in American politics is "let's do what the Chinese are doing."

Most in the carbon industry would rather pay a straight tax than get involved in some form of cap n' trade.

Sandbox politics. No one learns to share.

I have no opinion to express here on climate change or it's causes.

Of course, that's not the real reason US does not sign up to any of these types of things. No matter how well done, businesses see it as limiting, so China won't sign and US sure as heck won't sign, probably even if China does.

Depends in who is leading! The EU looks a little bit lost when these two won't sign the ETS pact.
