My Daughter received an email today also for Prestige, she is 800 short of 35K. Should I start a new thread asking if they will bump her up. :)

...Got mine today too. Wish they'd start counting segments towards 2015 (I went over 95 in July!).

She was lucky enough to receive the bump up to 35K, might help that she has had status every year for the past 10 years except 1. And in 6 weeks time she can start drinking in the louge

I was 494 short of 50k and flew to YYZ just in case.

For my final flight of the year, I took the cheapest suggested routing of YYZ-YOW-YUL-EWR (return direct EWR-YYZ). That's as close to a MR as I have ever done, but it put me over 120K so another 15 eUpgrade credits for 2015 (as there aren't so many to start with!).

was the pricing similar on the YYZ-YOW-YUL-EWR vs direct?

I think $50 less ... it just cost me some hours of my time!

That is pretty good! I have seen similar pricing for YTZ-YUL-EWR though the layover is a little bit too long for me.

I wouldn't normally have done it. But being 800 miles short of 120K did it. Now 82 eUpgrade credits for 2015 is slightly better than 70 (I didn't time my 100K crossing quite well enough, alas).

Sadly my travel patterns don't allow that level of eUpgrade accrual!

Ugh, the cut to just 1 nominee for 2015 sucks though... I wish you could pay a $ per credit to renew them.

I thought VIP is the highest status offered by AC

Anyone knows how many VIP members are out there?

No its not. it is given to major CEO types and certain others but has nothing to do with SE status.

    Interesting.

Was departing YQU yesterday (yeah, way up there in the Empty Quarter) and the boarding agent called for "Zone Star" first, followed by "Zone One". I wonder whether Zone Star is VIPs, or is it just the run-of-the-mill movie stars and prisoners under escort?

YQU gets so many prisoners and escorts sometime, that I wonder whether we should start calling in Lubyanka Airport? (read Solzhenitysn's Gulag Archipelago, it describes the northern labour camps to perfection).

Just passed 100K and am now SE until Feb.28/17. Crossed the magic number while flying from DUB via FRA to PEK and then on to CAN. I used some AE miles to UG from J to F on the new 747-8 LH just started flying. They have done a great job in designing that cabin.
