Am I reading the Press release correctly, the 763s will get new seats without IFE and have to use the Galaxy Tablets?

The redesign of the 763 begins in early 2014 (likely coinciding with the arrival of the 787), but I wonder if the 772 refit schedule is the same.

So does this mean that AA will become a non First Class Airline...?

That's kind odd, since it's in conflict with AA's press release!

No, the new 773s arriving later this year are still scheduled to arrive with the new F cabin.

To serve GRU they will need 2 planes, plus the LHR flights that will get F. (JFK, ORD) That is at least 5 planes, I think most of the 77Ws if not all 10 will have an F cabin.

We don't have any reason to believe that some of the 77W will have F and some won't.

You "heard" wrong. 773's all will have new F-cabin, they'll be line-fitted with same by Boeing and are coming relatively soon. Don't believe everything you "hear."

Only reason I could see a change in the 773 would be because of merger

I'm fairly certainly that poster knew going in his info wasn't correct. Stirring the pot....

The 763s with only 2 rows of MCE and no IFE are not going to be particularly great. The 772s have more MCE but still not a ton. Definitely nice biz seats, but density is lower than DL or UA and the number of good fall-back seats isn't great either.

Oh, and none of it happens until 2014. It is like AA is playing catch-up by crawling.

CX has only 6 on 773, they are 1-1-1, BA has 14 in their new F on 773.
I think the AA seats will fit 1-2-1 so my guess is 12 but I could be totally wrong

Why would there be 9 if there are 4 per row?
