James Horner, the famed Hollywood composer who contributed scores to Braveheart, Avatar, two Star Trek films, The Amazing Spider-Man and many more, was killed June 22, 2015 when his private plane crashed.

The two-time Oscar winner, 61, worked on three James Cameron films, two 'Star Trek' movies and classics like 'A Beautiful Mind,' 'Field of Dreams' and 'Apollo 13.' He received an Oscar for his dramatic score for Titanic. This is a great loss.

Horner was piloting the small aircraft when it crashed into a remote area about 60 miles north of Santa Barbara, Calif.
