I think I've read the answer somewhere, but can't find it.

I believe that if I refund the ticket (it is fully refundable), the code is toast.
What if I change dates or destinations - will the code survive? Does it matter that the code will have otherwise expired prior to a reissue?

An excellent question. I've been wondering about this myself.

Unfortunately the terms are not completely clear on this
Changes and Refunds: Changes and refunds are allowed per the applicable fare rule and may result in the forfeiture of the Discount Code.
I'd call in and ask them.

you can change the dates or destinations and the code will survive. If you refund it however, the code is lost. If you have a really good reason for refunding rather than issuing into a new city in the first place, Customer Care may cut you some slack and issue a new one.
