From today's August OnePass statement:
I thought the 25% bonus has been eliminated.
I believe it is valid through 12/31/11.
I flew on 8/6 and got the bonus. Too bad my renewal is 8/20 and the new benefits of the card don't warrant me keeping it.
Interesting that they apparently still feel it's the thing that sells the card?
Actually, when you click on the ad and look at the description of the card on the page, there doesn't seem to be any mention of that benefit anymore.
They continue to denude the benefits. The only things that will be useful to me are the lounge entry and the Avis President's Circle (good thing to make use of). The fee return for being pres plat was nice, but it is gone. The flex miles were a nice savings bank, but now that they do squat over 75k and expire, they are a ho-hum. Most of the other benefits such as no international FOREX charge, over rated concierge service, double airline miles, and insurance are all available on other cards at far cheaper annual fees. Such a deal when it started... now... meh.
and BTW... that bonus was only for CO metal.
As just another (insignificant, but telling nonetheless) erosion of benefits, I just happened to receive a new PClub card in the mail today, because the magnetic strip on my old one never worked. One of the slips of paper in the envelope told me to "upgrade my dining experience" and enroll in Morton's VIP program. So, silly me, I fire up my browser and head to morons.com/continental, and what do I find? "Sorry, this program between Continental and Morton's has ended."
I won't be surprised when Chase tries to strip out the lounge access benefit from this card, but keep the $395 annual fee...
Even my iPad auto-correct knows what's up!
The note I got from Chase was 3/15/12.
