Apparently today CNN is launching a week-long series of short items about the airline industry. Today they discussed how flying coach on USA domestic carriers differs from certain foreign carriers, specifically Cathay (free food, beverages, luggage, and headphones, they said) and Bangkok (they showed pictures of a lounge for coach passengers with free food and a kids' play corner, and then has a passenger say how great it was to get a meal on a hour-long flight). One misconception to laugh about was the statement that when one rides a USA airline in coach one can't get lounge access. What about lounge memberships, AmEx Plat, Priority Pass, elites travelling internationally, lounge day passes, etc.? One would think that CNN would have some employees who travel enough to know this isn't true.
