In Fall 2010 SPG announced that all club lounges will be open 7 days/week. Has this policy been rescinded? This is the sign at the Sheraton Crystal City:

PS: Sheraton near RDU airport had its Club lounge closed Sunday night and Monday morning on a recent visit.

Even before the SPG rule about lounges open every day, this hotel was good about giving evening coupons for the bar and their downstairs breakfast buffet or orders from the menu if preferred. Did they not do this for you?

They did give me vouchers. Breakfast was poor. But one benefit of the club is computers, newspapers, water, grab and go. Anyway, my question is whether it is truly an SPG brand standard.

I thought it was a Sheraton Brand Standard not a SPG Brand Standard.

Since it was a Sheraton, it would apply either way. RDU was a Sheraton also.

Is there a Sheraton policy of what will be provided to guests when the lounge is closed? I'm considering a stay in Stockholm in early Jan and it says the lounge will be closed for the holidays until Jan 7.

If you purchase a club level room, you'll be given certificates to cover what you would be missing. If it is a complimentary upgrade situation, they don't have to offer anything, but some do, so YMMV.
