I received the following email today which seems like a good deal if you plan on using the points at one of the Blu properties... and the $75 annual fee is NOT waived... thoughts?

It seems like a good deal but the minimum spend is so high for a couple free decent property nights. I still may pull the trigger on my next churn.

If you can, get the business one as it has the same benefits and bonus but only a $60 fee. Club Carlson has quickly become one of my favorite hotels programs

The last night free on award stays is a pretty nice benefit, and with 5x points earning on standard purchases, that's a better deal than most hotel award programs (SPG the exception). The lack of properties is really the biggest drawback.

Also if you are staying in Europe, The Middle East, or Africa on a paid stay, you can get 2 nights for the price of 1 or 4 nights for the price of 2 as a Gold member.

    See the complete terms below.

But you're limited to Credit Card (just realized using the CC acronym in a Club Carlson thread might be a bit confusing :)) spend to earn points after the initial bonus if you don't have many domestic locations to earn on stays.

The locations are spotty and aren't prevalent in the areas I travel. I find Hamptons and HIE's to be the most convenient for my travels. I will be staying at a Country Inn in the Dakotas in May though.

I noticed on my drive back from DC that there were quite a few Country Inn and Suites along the 95. Along with Hampton Inn's as well. Can't imagine those places as being expensive. Could be good MR if you live in BWI area.

My wife and I each got the card and it is fantastic. We can stay four nights for the price of two award nights and if we need longer, we can rotate back and forth between our accounts for as many nights as we could possibly need. Each card comes with 50 bonus nights per year so unless we plan on spending more than 200 nights per year at a club carlson hotel, we will be staying at half the award costs.
