I got a 40,000 ThankYou point offer for a new CitiGold Checking Account and I was wondering what they value them at? I know when people got AA miles from Citi they were valued something astronomical $0.025 IIRC. Since ThankYou points directly turn into USD at $0.005 pp Is that where to expect the value to come from?

Trying to work the numbers to decide if this is worthwhile. Anyone taken this route?

They told me over the phone that I would only get a 1099 IF I converted my points to cash when I spoke to them over the phone.

Still not sure if its a good idea.
