I am scheduled to fly LAX-ORD-AMS-VIE-DXB tomorrow with tight connections in AMS and VIE. United just issued a travel waiver for Chicago weather tomorrow.

I called to see what my options were and was told that, even though space was available, they could not get me any other routing because:

    1) I had to take the OS segments out of AMS; and,

    2) I cannot fly on CO to AMS and ORD is the only flight operated by UA to AMS

I was told my only option was to wait until the morning and see wether the weather cancels or delays anything.

    Missing the old United...

Hope the weather doesn't effect my ride on Friday night from ORD to IAD. Don't need to be missing a Sat morning flight to GCM.

Or any of the folks doing DEQM runs to/from ORD like a friend of mine is doing on Thursday.

Er, apologies, but wouldn't the old United also have not had the CO route from EWR to AMS? What am I missing here?

The old United would have had a flight from IAD that I could re-route onto or let me go via FRA, etc. as needed.

It really is crazy that UA isn't even willing to accomodate you on PMCO flights. I recently had an acquaintance lose a bag going EWR-IAD-EZE on the CO segment. Rather than put the bag on the next day IAD-EZE, they insisted on flying the bag IAD-EWR-IAH-EZE. I hope this will all stop when the systems are combined.
