A Chicago-bound American Eagle flight from Fargo, N.D., was forced to land unexpectedly Wednesday in Madison morning because of a potential issue with the plane's hydraulics.

The regional jet carrying 52 passengers landed safely at the Dane County Regional Airport at about 11:30 a.m., airport spokesman Brent McHenry said.

McHenry said an indicator on the plane flagged a potential problem, which necessitated interrupting the nonstop flight.

McHenry said the passengers would be re-routed to Chicago.
