I thought it would be fun to start a topic on this. What is the cheapest flight you've ever received. No freebies or points, just straight up retail.

Mine: $19 Jet Blue LAS to LGB March 2011.

Probably the best value I've received was on the $54RT fares from the Bay Area to Columbus, Ohio, about 10 years ago. That would be $27 one way if you wanted to buy it that way. I was a regular visitor there for several weeks. Don't think I've bought anything less than that the last 20 years. There was an SFO-CDG $28 fare that was out there for a few hours around the same time that I missed out on by an hour or two. That would have been an outstanding value even with taxes added on.

Airtran's X-fare $38 one way between IAD and BOS. Did a bunch of those in early 2000s when I was in college.

99 Norwegian kroner (or about 18 bucks) each way from Oslo to Gdansk (Poland) when Norwegian opened their route there comes to mind. Back in 2005. I remember we were in the emergency exit (free seating) and bought the rest of the beer they had in their trolley for sale and the total was a lot more than we paid for the tickets :p

$17.95AUD SYD-MEL, on a Jetstar (JQ) pricematch using fares from Tiger (TT). $19.95 less 10% for not having a cheaper fare available. I take advantage of the price match on a regular basis. I hate JQ but for around $40ish on average, I can lounge around in the Qantas First Lounge (as a QF Platinum) for 3 hours and have a bottle or 3 of Taittinger, hence eliminating the cost entirely ;)

$2 base LAX-ART a few years back. Still remember it fondly. ORD-SFO was my first time in the UD of a 747.
