Just saw a commercial about the Chase Liquid card which sounded like a competitor to the Bluebird. Looked a little into it and it appears to be a weak card even for those whom these cards were intended for.
    • It has a monthly $4.95 fee but doesn't have reload fees but neither does Bluebird for loading cash or checks.
    • You cannot load via Vanilla Reload or the other reload cards which allow you to use credit cards.
    • Only benefit appears to be that you can use it as a Visa Debit card
I fail to see the advantage of this over a standard savings/checking account except that the $4.95/month fee may actually be lower for those who cannot qualify for the free accounts.

Here's the link in case you are interested in looking into this card: https://www.chase.com/online/prepaid-card/liquid-prepaid-card.htm

Do you think those who are actually targeted by this offering would use Vanilla Reloads?

Agree. Don't see where it will be any competition for BB.

Definitely not. That was more of a point to save time for those of us whom the card is not targeted.
