I'm pretty new here, so I need some help deciding between the BA 100K and CO 50K promotions. I've read that Chase only lets you apply successfully to one card about every 6 months and both of these promos expire in May.

I feel like the CO offer might never come back because of the UA merger. I do plan to take advantage of the next UA 50K offer when it comes around.

It looks like the BA 100K offer only comes around every couple of years.

I'd like to earn RDM in both *A and OW to keep my award travel options open. I'd likely not use the BA miles to fly on BA, opting for an Asia trip instead, so the high fees wouldn't really factor into the decision.

    Anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Why decide between the two, get both.

The 6-month rule isn't a rule. Chase will allow a second application about 30 days after the most recent successful one. There are people who've been successful with even less time between apps.

Oh! Good to know, thanks. Guess I'll try both.

This is correct. I've gotten two cards six weeks apart and heard of folks getting two cards less than a month apart. So, I would apply for one today and another after 30 days.

I applied for both online yesterday, and after a quick phone call, I was approved for both. I posted about it in the BA thread here: http://milepoint.com/forums/threads...-signup-bonus-is-back.8054/page-3#post-325615

YMMV, but I was approved for the first one instantly and then had to answer questions about why I wanted both cards and details on my job, income, etc to get the second one approved over the phone.

What did you tell them your reason was for applying for both cards?

BA for the 0% foreign transaction fee, and Continental for everyday spend because I fly Continental more often.

Some people get declined because they had a recent Chase pull but have reported success by calling back and asking reconsideration to split credit lines between accounts.

Update - I decided to try travelinmike33's suggestion...

... and it worked! They decided to lower the limit on the BA card to get the CO one approved. Huzzah!

Did both same day, and my boss did too...... Both approved BA, denied CO....one simple call and I was approved for CO...haha, the boss, well, he had to call back 4 times before he found someone willing to give him the CO card....luck of the csr draw I guess :)
