I wasn't a 1K back when the full annual fee for the Chase Mileage Plus card was waived, but I noticed on my statement activity a couple days ago that a "1K Fee Waiver Previous" refund was on my account for $60. I didn't specifically request it, it just automagically appeared. No idea if this benefit will server the merger.

If you have a Chase United Mileage Plus Platinum Visa that was opened before September 2006 and United 1K status, then you should receive a full $140 credit for the annual fee. For accounts opened after September 1, 2006, they receive a $60 credit when holding 1K status.

I should also note that I received the $60 credit on a Mileage Plus Club Visa card, not the Platinum Visa.

I am still waiting to see if they keep the full $140 refund after the merger or use that as an excuse to get rid of it for those of us who were grandfathered in. I'm betting they get rid of the full refund as being too good a deal.

I called in to cancel my account the other day and the agent was actually incredibly good, noting through our basic chatting that I should be getting that benefit but hadn't yet. He put in the request for it on my account and it came through a week or so later. Very .

Does someone have a link to this? I had no idea this was a benefit.

My $140 was charged on my May bill. I called last night and was told that it had already been credited and will appear on the June bill.

I just got my $140 1K waiver credit yesterday, without having to call, email or otherwise inquire.

I have a Select Visa, for which I believe the fee is $95. Or am I mistaken? What card has a $140 fee? I thought the Club card was much higher and the regular Visa is lower.

The MP Chase Visa Platinum card (not longer offered to new customers)has a $140 annual fee and is waiver 100% for 1Ks who started the card before September 2006. (I started just a few months before that:)). For post Sept 2006 1Ks $60 (?) of the fee is waived.

  14. I now have the Continental Chase card. Does anyone have any idea what will happen when Continental is fully merged? What I want to do is get the mileage bonus with the United Chase card. Currently a 50,000 point bonus if you are 1-K.
