I'm looking to use a free night for a particular hotel, but when I search for one night, the site says there is no availability for a chase free night.
When I change it to 2 or more nights, the rate becomes available and will even let me book a multiple nights for "free" even though I only have one award night in my account.
    What is happening here?
If I booked and tried to stay on this "free" rate for multiple nights, will the hotel just honor one night and then charge me some astronomical rate for the rest of the nights?

Wouldn't calling be breaking the cardinal rule?

There is no cardinal rule about calling customer service when you have a need or a problem to be resolved.

Well, if there's a chance of getting 4 nights for free by glitch, I wouldn't want to call. Highly unlikely, but who knows.

That's a tough one. You could book it and then call and see if it will be honored as long as you have the ability to cancel it.

if that's the hotel you are really intending to stay above all others, it's worth a shot calling..it could be an IT glitch with the site and whatever the reply, at least you know what the next step could be..

I'd book it if it's cancel-able and maybe make a backup reservation too at a rate your comfortable with.

If you book it make sure you take a screen shot of the res. and print both the screen shot and the email confirmation
