Last week flying CO: 1.) CO3212 BWI-EWR was delayed and I would miss my connection to CO45. Plat Desk changed me to AA non-stop. Arrived around the same time as my original plan. 2.) On the return, called Plat Desk and asked to SDC to an earlier MIA-EWR flight. The response:"No problem". 3,) Called today and asked for ORC on the original outbound flights, completed within a few minutes. I like these changes.
wow, much faster than the sometimes weeks turnound I've experienced for United ORC. Although if I push, or call, then tend to do it more quickly
No joke. My UA connecting flight from ORD-PHL got cancelled on the 29th, and I ended up on a CO flight from ORD-EWR, which still got in late, but at least I got home without having to spend a night in Chicago. When I called the 2P line to request ORC on the ORD-PHL leg, I was told (after some time on hold) that the miles would be posted within 48 hours. After 3 days, I called back to inquire, and was told that the only way to get ORC was to send a hard copy request with copies of the BPs (seriously - HARD COPY. In 2011. They wouldn't even accept fax.) Still waiting for the miles to post.
Original Routing Credit. Basically getting credit for what you would have flown, had not IRROPS forced you into something else.
This also allows you to "Double Dip" if you fly an airline that has no FF agreement with your own. So the OP was able to (not sure if he did or not) get miles on AA for the BWI-MIA flight, and request the credit for the BWI-EWR-MIA he missed.
