My friend just applied for the AA card and United card but didn't have a FF # when he applied so how does it work with them creating one for him?

Will it be in the CC welcome packet?

Will it be emailed from AA?

Usually one gets created for you although you may not be told the #. Call the credit card issuer and ask the # that miles are being deposited to, then call the airline mileage program to get access to the account.

Yeah, depending on the issuer you may be able to see it on the website or click on the "Awards" area of the credit card site and find it. If not SM or call the card issuer and ask.

BTW they'll generally be able to merge this account back with their regular one once they're done with that card as long as the account has EXACTLY the same name etc as their normal account.
