    Hi,

I made a huge mistake in booking a nonrefundable flight ticket before I was 100% sure I could make it. Of course, turns out that I can't go.

The cost in total is $290 and I paid $250 with a type B voucher and $40 with credit card.

If I cancel the flight, will I be able to get anything back?

    Thanks a lot!

My understanding is that the official rules say no, but you can try. Good luck.

The rule is --- Once a voucher is used it can't be reused, and is gone forever.
However, I read recently that some folks have had success in reusing them by calling WEB SUPPORT, but that could just be an exception to the rule, as FTer's have a lot of exceptional people that stretch the facts occasionally!

What's the value on the ticket?

If the ticket says $290, you can exchange it for any new ticket (less the $150 change fee).

If the ticket says $40, you're screwed.

Not to debate with ya, but the value of any ticket that I've ever used a voucher with is the paid portion ONLY.

A voucher amount is never allowed to be used a second time, and/or rolled over to a new booking.
Disclaimer--- There may be exceptions, and somebody will certainly chime in that they've been successful, but to do so IMHO, requires a very emotional and heartbreaking reason.

As far as I am concerned and if I was holding this reservation, I would assume the value of a NON-REFUNDABLE ticket (with a $150.00 change fee) to be zilch towards another purchase.

With a Type A certificate, this is true, but Type B certs are treated more like cash...
